Airport Lviv – is the biggest airport at West Ukraine, is located within the city Lviv, in about 6 km from city-center. Airport was opened in 1929 replacing the International Lviv Airport in Levandivka (military airport working from 1914; civil flight were opened in 1922).
After opening the Lviv airport was making flights from Lviv to Warsaw and Gdansk.
Within the preparation to the championship Euro-2012, the airport was reconstructed: the new passenger terminal was built and the landing strip was extended. In 2012 the airport name was changed to “Lviv Danylo Halytskyi International Airport”.
Today the capacity of airport terminal is 2000 passengers per hour, the passenger traffic – 600 passengers per year. The length of landing strip is 3305 m, width – 45 m. Airport can receive D-type aircrafts, about 20 departures of such aircrafts per hour.
