Travelling regulations for unaccompanied children

According to the Article 313 of Civil Code of Ukraine a person under the age of sixteen years has the right to travel outside Ukraine only with the consent of the parents (adoptive parents), guardians and accompanied by them or persons authorized by them. However, an individual over the age of sixteen has the right to travel independently outside Ukraine.

Ukrainian citizens traveling outside the territory of Ukraine, who have not attained the age of 16, are carried out only with the consent of both parents and accompanied by them or by persons authorized by them. Such consent is issued by a notary in the form of a declaration addressed to the person who will accompany their child (children) traveling abroad.

Departure of the underage citizens of Ukraine from the territory of Ukraine is possible for children:

- Accompanied by both parents

- Accompanied by one of the parents with the notarized consent of the other parent

- With the notarized consent of both parents addressed to the person who will accompany their child (children) traveling abroad.

Airlines can accept children under their own responsibility with the notarized consent of both parents addressed to the airline.
